Who you are dealing with
This site and the SplitCheck Toolkit are sold by SplitCheck. Contact: the contact form — a fixed route for legal contact regardless of what other support channel is live at the time. Using the site means accepting these terms.
The free checker
The browser checker is provided free and without any warranty. It runs on your device; we have no ability to see, recover or restore your data. Keep your own copies of anything that matters — in particular, downloading a cleaned training file does not modify or back up your original.
The toolkit
The SplitCheck Toolkit is a one-time purchase of $29 USD. You get a commercial license to use it inside your own organisation: on your machines, on your servers, and in your CI, on as many projects as you like, for as long as you like. There is no seat count and no expiry.
You may not:
- redistribute, resell, sublicense or publish the toolkit or its source, in whole or in part;
- offer it as a hosted service to third parties;
- share your download link or license key outside your organisation.
Updates within the same major version are included and available from your account page. We do not promise a particular release cadence, and there is no guarantee of a free upgrade to a future major version.
Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Prices are in USD and exclude any tax that may apply in your jurisdiction; Stripe will show the total before you confirm.
Refunds
If the toolkit does not do what this site says it does, get in touch within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. No justification needed beyond telling us what went wrong — that feedback is the only thing we ask for. Refunds end the license; please delete your copy.
What we do not promise
SplitCheck reports lexical overlap between two files. It does not guarantee that your datasets are free of contamination, and near-duplicate detection is approximate by construction — the documented limits are part of these terms, not marketing small print. Decisions you make about your models and your data remain yours.
The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the software or this site is limited to the amount you paid us, which for the free checker is zero. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Availability
We aim to keep the site up but do not promise a service level. If the download page is unavailable when you need the file, reach out and we will send it directly.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in effect for your purchase is the one published on the day you bought. Material changes update the date above.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the seller’s place of business. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
